Georgann A. Rottinghaus, 91, of Baileyville, Kansas, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Residential Living in Seneca.

She was born on July 12, 1925, at home, in Baileyville, the daughter of George and Agnes Dultmeier Heiman. She grew up in Baileyville and attended Baileyville school, graduating in 1944.

As a young women she ventured to Omaha and was employed downtown by the famous J.L. Brandeis & Sons Department Store. She enjoyed the city life and working for Brandeis where you went to have dinner with your friends…it was 10 floors of just a wonderful array of things.

On Oct. 28, 1946, she married Wilbert H. Rottinghaus at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Georgann was the epitome of the perfect farm wife; raising her children while helping her husband with the crops and livestock at their farm, south of Baileyville.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville and a member of the altar society where she as an officer.

Georgann enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, baking, gardening and raising flowers; she took special enjoyment in babysitting her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert on April 4, 2009; her great-granddaughter, Olivia Grossnickle on March 22, 2015; her son-in-law, Frank Wessel on June 23, 2015; siblings, Aurea Engelken, Agatha Temeyer; and her step siblings, Lawrence Heiman and Helen Dressman.

Survivors are her three children, Cheryl Wessel of Axtell, Steve (Julie) Rottinghaus of Seneca and Rosalyn (Mike) Stallbaumer of Baileyville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Tuesday, March 7th, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
