Stephen V. Lueger

Seneca, KS

Stephen Vincent Lueger, 51, of Seneca, KS, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at his home west of Seneca.

He was born May 25, 1957 in Seneca to Alvin and Leona Wietharn Lueger. He graduated from B & B High School in Baileyville in 1975. He went to work for Todd Tractor in Sabetha and then Landoll Manufacturing Company in Marysville. He also worked for Brown County Co-Op. He graduated from Emporia State University. After college he worked for Alco in Hutchison, before returning to Seneca to help care for his ailing father.

He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Society in Seneca. Stephen enjoyed woodworking, carving, gardening, drawing, and working outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Leona Lueger of Seneca; eight brothers, Galen (Carol) of Goff, Robert (Susan) of Omaha, NE, James (Joan), Edward (Sharon), and Don (Diane), all of Seneca, and Tom (Debra) of Plattsmouth, NE, Eugene (Janet) and Gerald (Karla), both of St. Marys; a sister, Mary (Steve) Nelson of Parkville, MO; and 28 nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 PM Wednesday, April 8, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 3:30 and 8:30 PM Tuesday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials may be given in Stephen’s memory for the Sts. Peter and Paul Building Fund, and sent in care of the family.
