Ronald Leroy Little

Centralia, Kansas

Ronald Leroy Little, 80 of Centralia, Kansas passed away on May 29, 2023, at Eastridge Care Home in Centralia.

Ron was born in Centralia, KS on June 11, 1942, to Leslie and Fern (Armstrong) Little where he attended Centralia School graduating in 1960. He went on to attend Highland Community College graduating with an associate degree in 1962. He completed his education at Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1964.

On January 25, 1964, Ron married Arlene Feldkamp at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. They were blessed with a son Jeff and a daughter Ange.

Ron and Arlene moved to Kansas City after his graduation from Kansas State University in 1964 where he took a job with Whittaker Cable Company as an accountant. In March of 1975 the couple decided to move their family back to a farm outside of Centralia where he started farming with his father. Ron also opened his first tax and accounting business in his home that same year. In 1986 Ron and Arlene sold the farm and moved into Centralia where Ron took over the living and dining room of the home to operate his accounting business until he outgrew the space in 2014 and purchased a house down the block to turn into his office. In 2019 Ron and his daughter Ange combined their accounting businesses and formed Little’s Accounting & Tax LLC. In April of 2021 due to health reasons Ron prepared his final tax return and retired from the day-to-day operations of the accounting business.

Ron was a member of the Centralia Community Church and had also served on the Centralia City Council, Centralia Library Board and Centralia Cemetery Board. He also coached his son and daughter summer baseball and softball teams.

Ron enjoyed traveling, camping, and attending his children and grandchildren’s activities. The two things he loved most was spending time with his family and sports especially his favorite team the Kansas State Wildcats.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Leslie in March 2008, Fern in March 2014 and a granddaughter Latisha Little in February 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene, a son Jeff (Maggie) of Centralia, a daughter Ange of Centralia, his six grandchildren, Shawn, DaKota, Cherokee, Ashlyne, Axel of Centralia, and Hunter of Manhattan and a great grandchild Oakley of Centralia, and his sister Joan of Centralia.

Ron will lie in state at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Thursday, June 1, 2023.. A visitation will be held Thursday June 1, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday June 2, 2023, at Centralia Community Church East. The burial will be in the Centralia Cemetery.

Memorials for Ron will be designated at a later date and may be sent in care of the family.

Ron will lie in state at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Thursday, June 1, 2023.. A visitation will be held Thursday June 1, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday June 2, 2023, at Centralia Community Church East. The burial will be in the Centralia Cemetery.
