Rita C. Kramer

Seneca, KS

Rita C. Kramer, 86, of Seneca, KS, died Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2008 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

Rita was born on April 10, 1921 in Albion, NE, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Anton F. Kunzman. She graduated from Albion High School in 1938. Immediately after school, she moved to Kansas City and went to work for her uncle, Frank Hoefer, at his distribution center.

On June 14, 1952, she married Ray Kramer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. The couple moved to Seneca, where Rita worked for the SCS before becoming a homemaker and raising their two children. In 1972, her husband opened R & R Clothing on Main Street in Seneca and she worked in the store for 15 years, until they sold the business in 1987.

Rita was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a past president of St. Ann’s Altar Society at the church in Seneca. She loved to do crossword puzzles, completing one a day. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and baking. She always had fresh bread and rolls, and the family did not let a Christmas go by without her apple pie.

Survivors are two sons, Larry and his wife Kimberly of Shawnee, KS, and Charlie and his wife Lois of Sabetha; two brothers, Jack and Tony, both of Albion, NE; two sisters, Joann Kunzman and Monica Hardwick, both of Kansas City, MO; and three grandchildren.

She was proceed in death by her daughter Mary on May 21, 1955, and her husband Ray on April 18, 2007.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 AM Tuesday July 22, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Monday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorial contributions may be given for the Sts. Peter & Paul School Building Fund, and sent in care of the family.
