Quentin A. Halfen, 70, of Winfield, KS, formerly of Baileyville, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at the William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

He was born January 17, 1936, on a farm north of Baileyville, the son of James and Ethel Werner Halfen. He lived on the farm with his parents until 1944 when he moved to Winfield.

Quentin made his home at Winfield until his death.

Survivors are a brother, Rod Halfen of Chico, CA; and two sisters, Mary Widman of Valparaiso, FL and Joann Barnett of Juneau, AK.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Meyer on July 8, 2002 and Jean Widman on June 7, 1993.

Graveside services were conducted by Fr. Al Fey on Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baileyville.
