Margaret (Peggy) Myers

Bullhead, Arizona

06/20/1933 - 02/26/2023

Margaret (Peggy) Myers, 89, of Bullhead, Arizona, died on February 26, 2023, at her home, with her husband by her side.

Margaret (Peggy) Myers was born June 20, 1933 in Rector, Pennsylvania to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Piper. She had three brothers, Harry, John, and Milton and three sisters, Mary, Faylaine and Doloris. The family moved to Perryman, Maryland when she was eight. She graduated from Aberdeen, MD High in June 1953.

Margaret and her husband Walter Myers met in Havre De Grace, Maryland while Walter was in training at the U.S. Naval training center, Bainbridge, Maryland. They married on July 17, 1953 and celebrated 69 ½ years of marriage. She and her husband both worked for civil service. Following his retirement, they raised Gelbvieh cattle and farmed for 19 years near Baldwin, Kansas. She and her husband lived full time in a motor home for six years and visited a great deal of the United States before retiring in the Riverview Resort in Bullhead City, Arizona.

Peggy was a member of the National Honor Society. Those who knew Peggy will agree she was one of the most generous, loving, hardworking, warm hearted and caring people one could meet.  She loved sports and was an avid Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan after having two granddaughters receive their Master’s Degree from Kansas University. Margaret loved fishing, bowling, square dancing, traveling, water skiing, and poker.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Walter; her two sons, Kenneth of Bullhead City, Arizona and Thomas of Hemingford, Nebraska. She was the proud grandmother of three, Keith Myers of Grain Valley, Missouri, Cherie’ Blanchat of Kansas City, Missouri and Joshua Myers of Lawrence, Kansas; and eight biological great grandchildren. She claimed Jose Martinez as a son, though never formally adopted, and his three children as informally adopted grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria, and Aislinn Courter.

Though a strong Christian she asked there only be a graveside service with a closed casket. She will be buried in the Seneca, Kansas cemetery where many of her relatives on the Myers side are at eternal rest. A graveside service will be held between 2 and 3 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Seneca City Cemetery.
