Katherine K. Walker

Topeka, Kansas

01/13/1947 - 07/06/2019

Katherine Kay Walker, 72, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka, KS.

Katherine “Kathy” was born on January 13, 1947, in Tulsa, OK, and grew up in Enid, OK.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Leta Elizabeth (Taylor) Walker, when Kathy was only 8 years old, and later by her father, John Hutchinson Walker.  She was cared for by her brother John Byron Walker and her father at the home; and later by her Aunt Mary (Taylor) and Uncle Howard Gilbert of Seneca, KS, and their family, as well as numerous other family members.

Kathy loved her extended family, delighting in every piece of news about aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews (particularly the babies!) and she enjoyed corresponding with friends and family.

Kathy is survived by her brother, John Byron (Kathy) Walker of Bonner Springs, KS; nephews, John Jeffery Walker (fiancé Julia) and James Shawn (Linda) Walker; niece-in-law, Sharli (Gillis Walker) Bledsoe; and step-niece Heather (Todd) Vincent. She also leaves nieces and nephews, Brandilyn and Elliott Walker, Rowan Walker, and Max and Zoe Vincent. She found friends she quickly grew to love wherever she was, most recently at Rolling Hills Health Center, and caregivers from Great Lakes Hospice. Kathy’s warm, generous spirit will be missed.
