Joan Cadue " Nah-Dam-Ko-Quah" Myers

Centralia, Kansas

Joan Cadue ” Nah-Dam-Ko-Quah” Myers, 81, of Centralia, Kansas, died on Friday, June 24, 2022, at her home, with her daughters, Lynn and Carrie, by her side.

Joan was born on December 29, 1940, in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Margaret Ross. Joan grew up in Horton and was raised by her mother and grandmother, attending school at Powhattan Grade School.  She later attended Chilcot School near the Oklahoma and Kansas border. After her 8th grade graduation, she attended school at North High School in Wichita.

 

Joan married Lee Kettner in 1959; the couple later divorced. She married Alva “Roger” Myers, on April 8, 1972; they both were able celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this year, just prior to Roger’s death.

 

Joan and Roger were the owners/operators of an electrical business in Wichita, called Roger’s Electric. Roger worked with his wife, Joan by his side running their successful business for 41 years; until they retired and moved back to the family farm in Centralia. Joan enjoyed a good game of bingo, bowling, horseshoes.  She loved gardening and being outdoors.  She appreciated livestock and especially treasured taking care of her calves.

 

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Alva “Roger” Myers on April 11, 2022; her grandmother; her mother; her son, Richard Myers; and her sister, Glynis Ross.

 

Survivors are her seven children; Becky Myers of Wichita, Sonny Myers of Shell Knob, Missouri, Cheryl Myers of Wichita, Lee Kettner of Haysville, Kansas, Lynn Kenney of Centralia, Gina Myers of Chicago, Illinois, Carrie Kettner of Centralia; her siblings, Gus Ross of Wichita and Vesta Ross of Horton; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

 

A graveside service will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from at 2 p.m. at the Centralia City Cemetery in Centralia.

 

The honorary pallbearers are Leem Kettner, Kenny Kenney, Sony Myers and Gus Ross; the active pallbearers carrying her to her place of rest will be Nick Myers, Nate Engelken, Ransom Engelken, Tahj Engelken, Cory Collins and Alijah Collins.

A graveside service will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from at 2 p.m. at the Centralia City Cemetery in Centralia.

    You will be missed, Auntie. But I must say, WHAT AN AMAZING LIFE LIVED, BY AN AMAZING WOMAN!!! I will forever admire the wonderful life, love and legacy you graciously shared, and I will always be so proud of the fact, I, am family of this fiercely amazing, beautifully accomplished, kind spirited, and forever treasured, Lovely Lady.
