Chad Alan Stoddard

Topeka, Kansas

Chad Alan Stoddard, 54, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on November 7, 2023, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS with his son and sister by his side.

Chad was born January 1, 1969, to Earle and Karyn (Harbottle) Stoddard in David City Nebraska. The family moved to Clay Center, Nebraska in 1970 and Seneca, Kansas in 1976. He attended grade school in Clay Center and Seneca Public School and attended Nemaha Valley High School in Seneca.

Chad was a proud dad to his son Mathew Stoddard and recent Grandpa to Renny Alan Stoddard.

Chad worked for various construction jobs in and around Seneca including Luckeroth Masonry. He eventually moved to Topeka and worked for Shawnee Woodworks which is now owned by Koch & Co. as a machinist.

Chad enjoyed various hobbies in his spare time including being a member of the Sons of American Legion and riding his Harley motorcycle and visiting family and friends. Chad was also an avid sports fan attending all types of events with friends and family including the Nebraska Huskers, Las Vegas Raiders, Oklahoma City Thunder and even more recently enjoyed going to KU football games.

Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Earle Stoddard (2022), and Karyn Stoddard (1997), his Grandparents Floyd and Margret Kiester, Earl Stoddard, and Robert and Mildred Harbottle.

Chad is survived by his son Matthew (Amber Koch) of Centralia and grandson Renny, his sister and brother-in law Sheryl and Randy Heinen of Seneca, and nieces Krysten (Kevin) Weeldreyer of Seneca, Kyla (Mitch) McPherson of Ozawkie, Michele (Michael) Alvarez of Atchison, nephew Tyler Heinen of Seneca, 7 great nieces and nephews. His cousin Chana (Harbottle) and Lowell Kubie, Austin and Kara of Blair, Nebraska and many other family and friends.  He was a good friend to many and would help you any way he could.

Funeral Services will be Monday, November 13, 2023, at 11:00am at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, KS with burial to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. The memorials are designated to go to the Sons of the American Legion, sent in care of the family.
