Anne Michelle Leonard

Anne M. Leonard, 47 of Seneca lost her battle against cancer on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca, with her family by her side.
Anne was born on June 5, 1971 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Jim and Penni Jewell Reimers. She grew up in Brock, NE and attended Brock Elementary School and Johnson-Brock High School where she graduated in 1989.
Anne attended the University of Nebraska where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She then earned her Master’s Degree at the University of Kansas. Anne began her professional career at Saint Francis Hospital in Topeka and also worked at Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital. When she moved to Seneca, she began working at Onaga Community Hospital and Eastridge Nursing home in Centralia where she continued to worked until early 2018. She also has worked at Life Care Center of Seneca, Sabetha Manner and most recently at Crestview Nursing & Residential Living, where she worked until the last few months.
On May 27, 1995 she married Todd Leonard in Nebraska City, NE. They celebrated 23 years of marriage and enjoyed a trip to the Holy Land this past June. Anne was wonderful mother and always enjoyed attending her kids’ various activities.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Altar Society in Seneca. She was also a member of The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and The Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (KSHA).
Anne is survived by her husband Todd, five children, Abby (19), Andrew (17), Wade (14), Graham (9) and Sophia (5); her sister Lori Dalrymple and brother-in-law Doug Mole of Lawrence; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Penni Reimers; and her grandparents, August and Madelyn Reimers and Bob and Marjorie Jewell.
Rosaries will be 2 and 7 P.M. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials will be designated at a later date.
Rosaries will be 2 and 7 P.M. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10.30 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.

So very sorry for your loss! I didn’t know Anne but met her family at the Jason Adams Trap Shoot. Prayers for comfort for all of you in the days ahead!

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Anne at Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital in the late 1990’s. She was such a kind person and great therapist. I would see her at different meetings and conferences over the years, and it was always easy to pick-up where we left off. I had only recently heard of her illness and am so saddened to have missed the benefit recently. She has been in my thoughts and prayers. I am thankful she is no longer suffering, and she is surely missed by her family and friends. My sympathies to her husband, children, and many remaining family.

Prayers to your family! I worked with Anne at Sabetha Manor and truly enjoyed her love for life and her family! She will truly be missed! May God wrap his arms around you all and know that she is at peace.
I had the pleasure of knowing Anne. We went to K.U. Graduate School together. I never saw her without a smile. She would light up a room. Last we spoke, she shared pictures of her children and was so proud. She will forever be in our hearts with that beautiful smile. Her family will be in my prayers.

Dear Todd and family, my husband and I worked with Anne at the Onaga hospital. She was such a wonderful person and she truly enjoyed what she did for a living. She was so kind and gentle with her patients. Her biggest achievement in life was being married to her best friend and her five beautiful children. She loved her family dearly. The Hearing and Speech department at the University of Kansas Medical Center sends our condolences. Anne was a bright spark – always full of energy and enthusiasm. We would see her frequently at the Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association annual convention and get caught up on what was happening in her world. Her mission to help others with communication challenges was evident in her words and in her deeds.
