Adrian M. Haug

Seneca, KS

01/29/1914 - 02/22/2008

Adrian M. Haug, 94, of Seneca, KS, died early Friday morning, February 22, 2008, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

Adrian was born on January 29, 1914, the son of Charley and Helen Rogers Haug on a farm four miles south of Baileyville. He attended a country school for eight years and graduated from Axtell High School in 1932. After graduation, Adrian farmed near Baileyville. Music was important to Adrian’s family and during the Great Depression they formed a family orchestra and began touring. Adrian played the saxophone with the family touring band for 10 years, which he felt was one of his greatest accomplishments in life.

On November 24, 1953, he married Margaret Marqueling at Logan, KS. For 20 years Adrian owned and operated a financial planning business.

Adrian was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 1769, both in Seneca.

Adrian cared for his wife at home until recently, when they both entered Crestview Manor care home in Seneca in 2007. He enjoyed reading, and playing pitch. He continued his love of music and performing by playing the piano every evening for the residents of Crestview.

Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by a son, Ken and wife Sindi of Wichita; and two granddaughters, Angela and Kay Dee.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Vincent in 1964, Edwin in 1990, and Donald in 1992.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM Monday, February 25, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 2 PM Sunday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials can be given for Sts Peter & Paul Church, and may be sent in care of the family.
