Elizabeth A. "Betty" Becker

Corning, Kansas

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Becker, 73, of Corning, Kansas passed away after her battle with cancer on Friday morning, April 23, 2021, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

Betty was born on September 5, 1947, in Corning, Kansas the daughter of Wilfrid and Rosalia “Sally” Weber Eisenbarth. She attended at St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from Corning High School in 1965.

She married Roger D. Becker on July 30, 1966 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning. After they were married Betty and Roger lived in St Joseph, Missouri from 1966-1973, Betty worked as a secretary at Beneficial Finance while in St. Joseph.

In June of 1973, the couple bought a farm west of Corning, where they have resided and continued to call it home for the past 46 plus years. Through hard work and determination this farm grew into 4-R Farms, Inc.

Betty was elected and served as a school board member USD 380 from 1993-2001, and the family joke was that her flat butt was accredit to all the ass chewings she received while on the school board. Betty, also worked at the Farmers State Bank in Corning for many years and she volunteered at the Library in Corning.

While the kids were younger Betty loved to spend time boating and water skiing even though she was not an avid swimmer. You could find Betty pitching softballs and baseballs to her kids. As her family grew, Betty spent many a day playing with her grandkids which were dear to her heart. She also enjoyed frequent trips with friends to the Casino before she became too sick to make the trip. She successfully ran a pancake house for her grandkids from her kitchen for many many years.

She was preceded in death by her brothers; Francis, Tom and Roger Eisenbarth; and her sister, Elaine.

Betty is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger Becker; her children, R.D. Becker of Corning, Randy (Jody) Becker of Corning, Renee (Steven) Crisler of Monument, Colorado, and Royce (Monica) Becker of Corning; three sisters, Patricia Flentie of Centralia, Mary J. Eisenbarth of Bern and Marlene (Glen) Wolfe of Corning; a brother-in-law, Dan Becker of Centralia; a sister-in-law, Linda Eisenbarth of Jonesborough, Tennessee; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Coal Creek.

Memorials for Betty will be designated at a later date.

 

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Coal Creek.

    To my very good friend and ski buddy. What didn’t we do? Water skiing, trap shooting, horseback riding, go cart riding, oh, and the fish we ordered that still had the head and eyes attached!! And what we had to put up with Dick and Rog! I will miss talking to you on New Years Day. You were a special friend of mine and I miss you. Know that I loved you. Janet Edwards
