Dr. Roy G. Meyer

Ottumwa, IA

09/02/1956 - 11/13/2020

Roy Meyer entered eternal life at 10:41 a.m. November 13, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was born September 2, 1950 to Frank and Mildred Meyer of Seneca, KS. Roy was raised in the Seneca, KS area. He graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. Roy then worked with Dr. David North in Ottumwa, IA for 40 years. He enjoyed being a veterinarian.

Surviving is his wife, Sue; children, Tom (Sheary) Meyer and Lyndi (Allen) Jefferson; grandchildren Aiden and Addison Meyer and Harper Rose Jefferson; brothers, Gary, Dan, Terry, Mark, Alan and their families.

He will be greeted in his eternal life by his parents, Frank and Mildred Meyer and his brother, Glen Meyer.

Roy fought Leukemia and Aplastic Anemia for many years and he finally lost!

Roy enjoyed bicycle riding and snow skiing with his children.

His body has been cremated. There will be a family service and inurnment at 11 a.m. Friday, November 20th at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baileyville, KS with words of comfort by his brother, Alan Meyer

Memorials may be made to Nemaha County Training Center, 12 South 11th St. Seneca, KS 66538 or Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, PO Box 1092 West Seneca, NY 14224.

Roy felt he enjoyed a good life with family and friends. He believed “Life is Good.”

His body has been cremated. There will be a family service and inurnment at 11 a.m. Friday, November 20th at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baileyville, KS with words of comfort by his brother, Alan Meyer

    My sympathy to Leroy’s family, both in Iowa and Kansas. I had some great memories and great times with Leroy duing our school days. Football, dances just good old running around in out school days. He was a great kid to grow up with. A lot of good times.
