Marcena O. Stallbaumer, 76, of Seneca, Kansas passed away on October 22, 2015 at her home.

She was born January 11, 1939 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Francis Aloysius “Allie” and Mary Schmits Keegan. Marcena graduated from St. Benedict High School in 1957. She was employed by KPL in Topeka and later in Seneca.

She married Lyle Stallbaumer on January 2, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville; the couple celebrated 54 years of marriage.

She was employed by the City of Seneca for 28 years as the Assistant City Clerk. During her “retirement years” she worked for Rural Water #3 and Sts. Peter & Paul School.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society. For years she served on the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery Board and maintained the cemetery records. She also served as a communion minister. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Seneca, Sts. Peter and Paul’s Mission Center and at the Columbian Theater in Wamego as an usher. She loved to knit and was very proficient, teaching others that skill. She enjoyed social media and played Bridge three times a week.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Keegan.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle of Seneca; a daughter, Lyla (Brad) Bowser of Wamego, Kansas; son, Brad (Jennifer) Stallbaumer of Topeka, Kansas; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Kenneth Keegan of Baileyville, Kansas.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2&7 PM on Friday, October 23rd at the Lauer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 24th at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be left in Marcena’s memory to Sts Peter & Paul School and/or Cemetery.
