Terri Lee Meade
Centralia, Kansas
04/10/1957 - 01/08/2026
Terri L. Meade, 68, of Centralia, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Terri Lee was born on April 10, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Billy Ray Feltner and Leta Schilling. On August 26, 1977, she was united in marriage to Robert Meade in Marshall County. Together, they built a life centered on family.
Terri dedicated her early years to being a loving stay-at-home mother, pouring her heart into raising her children until her youngest began school. In 1990, she began a long and faithful career at Eastridge Nursing Home on the very day it opened. Terri served for many years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, offering compassion and care to countless residents. She later transitioned to the Housekeeping and Laundry Department, where her steady work ethic and leadership led her to become the department’s supervisor. After 35 years of service, she retired in April of 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and kindness.
Terri found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved settling in to watch NFL football, NCIS, and Criminal Minds, and cherished special moments spent getting pedicures and manicures with her daughters and granddaughters. Above all else, her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Terri and Robert traveled countless miles to attend ballgames, school events, and activities of all kinds. She was one of her grandchildren’s biggest fans and a proud supporter of their 4-H projects, always encouraging them with love and enthusiasm.
Terri will be remembered for her gentle heart, her unwavering dedication to family, and the quiet ways she showed her love every day. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert of Centralia; children, Jennifer (Dan) Matson of Vermillion, April (Dan) Plager of Centralia, Bobby (Kellie Griffith) Meade of Centralia, and Lucas (Staci) Meade of Centralia; grandchildren, Alex (Shelby) Matson, Donavan (Carly) Blagg, Nicholas Plager, Faith Plager, Brielle, Brayden, Maliyah and Mason Meade, McKenna Griffith, and Madison Plager; a great-grandson, Braxton Matson; siblings, Lisa (Bill) Meade of Centralia and Randy Feltner of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Cole Matson, on July 8, 2025; her sister, Sandy Dowd; and her parents.
A visitation will be held Sunday evening, January 11th from 5–7 p.m. at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Terri’s funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Centralia Community Church, East. Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery.
Memorials may be left in Terri’s memory to Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, sent in care of the family.
