Sharyn K. Hanni, 66, of Bern, KS, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

Sharyn was born on September 2, 1944 in Blair, NE to Alvin Cecil and Kathryn Virginia Peterson Nesbitt. She graduated from Sabetha High School in 1962, and was employed at Hallmark in Topeka. In 1963 she moved back to Sabetha where she worked for Heiman & Warnica IHC Dealership in Seneca. Sharyn enjoyed playing softball in her younger years, so much so that she even played 8-months pregnant. She was an avid league bowler for decades, and attended many local and state competitions, as well as at least two national tournaments. She also enjoyed golfing, pinnacle, pitch clubs, and polka dancing. She was most passionate about watching Nebraska Cornhusker football and seeing her grandsons compete in sports, especially Silver Lake high school football.

Sharyn is survived by her husband Roger, recently of Silver Lake; her mother, Kathryn V. Emert of Sabetha; her children, Shayla (Richard) Boyd of Silver Lake and Scott Hanni of Shawnee; a sister, Sue Schuette of Sabetha; her grandsons, Trenton (Jennifer) Hanni, and Jeremy, Zachary and Joshua Boyd, all of Silver Lake; and two great-granddaughters, Kailyn and Kylie Hanni of Silver Lake.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Nesbitt, and a brother, Doug Nesbitt.

Funeral service will be at 1 PM Saturday, August 13, at the United Methodist Church in Bern. Burial will be in the Bern City Cemetery at a later date. There will be a family visitation from 6 to 8 PM Friday, August 12, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials may be given for the United Methodist Church in Bern, or Nemaha County Training Center in Seneca, or the Silver Lake Sports Program in Silver Lake, and should be sent in care of the family.
