Gerald Marvin Divoky

Corning, Kansas

05/21/1926 - 08/14/2020

Gerald M. Divoky, 94, of Corning, Kansas passed away on August 14, 2020 at Eastridge Care Facility.

He was born on May 21, 1926 to Adolph and Bessie Burda Divoky in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up in the Kansas City area where he graduated from high school and then attended a few years of college.

Gerald, as a young man worked as a machinist for Anthony Paint Co and later for the FDA. During his time in KC he joined the Conservatory of Music where he played the violin. Gerald also enjoyed playing the piano and singing. After caring for his mother, until her death in 1989, Gerald decided to retire on some land outside of Corning and over the years he seemed to “collect dogs;” his love for dogs had no boundaries. Gerald had a very caring heart and would never turn a stray away. Gerald was a gentle man who had a smile and a kind word for everyone; he was unassuming.

Gerald was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kansas City.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Adolph; his mother, Bessie; and his brother, Robert.

Gerald leaves behind his many friends of the community.

Gerald requested immediate cremation as his wishes.

A private burial will be held at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City.
