Eileen B. (Olberding) Ricker

Eileen B. Ricker, 89, of Seneca, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 31, 2019 at Life Care Center in Seneca.
She was born February 18, 1930, on a farm west of Seneca, Kansas, the daughter of August C. and Catherine Ronnebaum Olberding. She grew up there, attended 4 years of grade school at St. Mary’s School at St. Benedict and 4 years at Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School. She graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School in Seneca in 1948. She began work at the Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Office in Seneca. In 1951 and 1952, she worked for Lanning & Drum Attorneys in Seneca. She returned to the ASC office in 1953 and worked there for 35 years as a chief program assistant until May of 1987.
She was married on November 28, 1953, to Milton W. Ricker at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. They lived in Seneca. He died March 19, 1980. In the fall of 1987 Eileen started working as an Avon representative. Since 1990 she worked part time at the Seneca Carpet Center.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society at the church. NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees), Union Pacfic Old Timers Club No 28, Women of the Moose Club, Honorary Life Membership to NASCOE ( National Association of FSA XCounty Office Emploees).
She enjoyed dancing, antiques, her yard, oil painting, fishing and traveling with Newt. Eileen was a avid Jayhawks fan and liked watching the basketball team in action.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 8 brothers, August Olberding, Victor Olberding, Allie, Raymond, George, Emmett, Orvin, Vincent, 2 sisters Lucille Allen and Laurine Olberding.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given for the Sts. Peter and Paul Church and sent in care of the family.
