Anna A. Weyer,
75, of Leavenworth, KS, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at a Kansas City,
KS, hospital. She had been in failing health for the last several years.
She
was born June 25, 1926, in Oneida, KS, the daughter of Jonathan N. and
Esther Blazer Bieri. As a teenager, she moved to Lansing, KS, where
she graduated from high school in 1943. She moved to Kansas City in
1957 and was employed by Gould Battery and the Kansas Department of
Transportation. Later she worked for TG&Y and K Mart from which
she retired in 1984. Anna lost her Kansas City home in the 1993 flood
and moved to Leavenworth.
She was active in her sons' activities
and kept score at all their ball games. She enjoyed crafts and playing
cards especially with her grandchildren. She collected rabbit and angel
figurines.
On February 28, 1958, she married Robert
D. Weyer at Seneca, KS. They were divorced in 1974. Robert died August
21, 1997. A daughter, Donna Jean Weyer, preceded her in death on August
15, 1958.
Survivors are two sons, Michael Weyer
of Tonganoxie, KS and Ronald Weyer of Basehor, KS; a sister, Dorothy
Jetter of Georgetown Texas; and four grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three
brothers, Ira, Arthur, and George Bieri; and two sisters, Ruby Hash
and Betty Clark.
Funeral services will be 7 P.M. Tuesday
at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth where visitation will begin at
5 P.M. Tuesday.
Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M.
Wednesday at Seneca City Cemetery, led by Pastor Joseph A. Martin. Lauer
Funeral Home in Seneca is in charge of Seneca arrangements.
