Edna Jane Schweitzer

Edna Jane Schweitzer, 81, Seneca, formerly of Goff died Monday, December 20, 2004, at Life Care Center in Seneca.
     Jane, as she preferred to be called, was born January 6, 1923, in San Diego, CA, the daughter of Roy and Grace Heath Michael. She graduated from Lakeside Grammar School, Lakeside, CA and attended Grossmont High School, Lemesa, CA for two years.
     On January 22, 1942, she married Thomas Bemis. They were divorced in 1958. While she was visiting her mother who had moved to Topeka, she met Harold Schweitzer. They were married December 12, 1972. They lived in Topeka before relocating to Goff in 1982 when Harold retired. They both entered Life Care Center in Seneca on July 21, 1998, due to their failing health.
     She attended the Goff United Methodist Church.
     Survivors are her husband, Harold Schweitzer of Life Care Center; a son, Michael Bemis, Reading, CA; a step-son Bill Schweitzer, Hoyt; a daughter, Sharon Deiranieh, Chula Vista, CA; and grandchildren.
     Besides her parents and a brother, Edward, she was preceded in death by a son, Jim Bemis, in January of 1998.
     Memorial services will be 2 P.M. Thursday at Life Care Center. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Goff. Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca is in charge of arrangements.
