Adrianna F. Schmidt

Adrianna F. Schmidt, 89, of Seneca died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
     She was born July 10, 1916, the daughter of Henry F. and Theresa Heideman Feldkamp, on a farm south of Seneca. She attended Mt. Vernon School, west of Corning. In 1924 the family moved to a farm east of Seneca where she attended Triumph School and Sts. Peter & Paul School in Seneca. Adrianna helped on the family farm and later did domestic work and helped with newborn childcare.
     On August 21, 1940, she married Lawrence J. Schmidt at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. They lived and farmed north of Centralia until 1944 when they moved to a farm southeast of Corning. They moved into Seneca in 1966. Adrianna worked at both nursing homes in Seneca. Lawrence preceded her in death on August 19, 1990. A son, Thomas E. Schmidt, died September 21, 1990. In June of 1998, she sold her home and moved into Terrace Heights.
     She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, St. Ann’s Altar Society, the quilting group, and a former member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Senior Social Circle and a former member of the Seneca Business & Professional Women’s Club. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.
     Survivors are a son, James Schmidt, Panama City, FL; two sisters, Dorothy Haverkamp and Crescentia “Tiny” Lehmkuhl, both of Seneca; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and son, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Raphael, and Joseph Feldkamp.
     The mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. The burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 3 and 8 PM Tuesday at the Lauer Funeral Home, where she will lie in state after 10 AM on Tuesday.
     Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter & Paul School, the Seneca EMT Association, or the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital and sent in care of the family.
