Sauer
Francis Sauer, 92, of Seneca died Monday, June 25, 2007 at his home.
Francis
was born on November 28, 1914, on the family farm, the son of Adolph
and Elizabeth Burke Sauer. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic
School in Seneca, graduating from the 8th grade.
On February 6, 1947, he married Florence
L. Dalsing at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Seneca. They made their
home and raised four children on the Adolph Sauer homestead, northeast
of Seneca, where Francis spent his entire life. The couple was married
54 years before Florence’s death on April 3, 2001.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church. Francis treasured time with his family and enjoyed
making unique clocks and sharing them with family and friends. He took
pleasure in attending tractor pulls. Francis simply loved life.
Survivors are a son Keith and his wife
Brenda of Seneca; three daughters, Karen Spielman and her husband Larry
of Topeka, Shirley Buessing and her husband Arlan of Troy, and Beverly
Hayden of Osawatomie; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on
Wednesday, June 27, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian
Burial will be offered at 10 AM on Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church
in Seneca. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be give for Sts.
Peter & Paul School, and sent in care of the family.
