Kathleen M. O'Connor

Kathleen O’Connor, 85, Seneca, KS, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Crestview Manor in Seneca.
     She was born March 12, 1919, at Seneca, the daughter of August and Mary Weixelman Brinker.
     On January 16, 1940, she married Bernard C. “Pete” O’Connor at St. Patrick’s Church at Corning. They lived and farmed in the Vermillion, Lillis, Frankfort, and Centralia areas and moved to Seneca in 1969. She worked at Crestview Manor for 24 years as a CNA. Her husband, Pete, died March 22, 1996. They had been married for 56 years at the time of his death.
     She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, St Ann’s Altar Society, and the Seneca Business & Professional Women’s Club. Kathleen enjoyed playing cards with a card club and with her friends.
     Survivors are a son, James B. O’Connor, Seneca; a daughter, Sharon O’Connor Schwartz, Tecumseh, KS; a sister, Joan Danforth, Forney, Texas; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Brinker, Johnny Brinker, and Lawrence Brinker; and a sister, Lorraine Leonard.
     The mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. The burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. Tuesday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. She will lie in state at the funeral Home after 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday.
     Memorials may be given for Crestview Manor and sent in care of the family.
