William J. Honeyman

William J. Honeyman, 54, of Topeka, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at his home.

He was born on November 18, 1955 in Seneca, to Robert and Rosella Suther Honeyman. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul School and graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1974. After graduating he went to work for his uncle, Elmer Suther, and helped build homes in the Seneca area. He later moved to Wyoming and worked for Grodhouse Construction as a construction superintendent. In 1978, he returned to Seneca and worked for his brother, at the Honeyman Ford Dealership in Seneca, until 1998.

He was married to Janeen Decker; they later divorced.

On November 14, 2001 he married Jody Boeding Whitaker in Seneca. The couple made their home in Topeka.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife Jody of the home; his son, Cody Honeyman of Wichita; his daughter, Michele Honeyman-Lawrence of Palm Desert, CA; a step-son, Jason Whitaker of Farmington Hills, MI; his parents Bob and Rosie Honeyman of Seneca; and siblings, Richard Honeyman of Seneca, Gary Honeyman of Laramie, WY, Terry Honeyman of Topeka; Janet Honeyman of Lawrence, Diane Parrish of Topeka, Jeanne Thomsen of Lawrence and Lori Koepsel of Topeka.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 20, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, KS. Before the memorial service, a rosary will be prayed at 10 AM at the funeral home.
