Peggy Ann Burger Schneider

Summerfield, Kansas

02/07/1951 - 05/28/2022

Peggy Ann Schneider, 71, of Summerfield, KS passed away May 28, 2022 peacefully at Crestview with family by her side after a short battle with cancer.

Peggy was born February 7, 1951 in Marysville, KS to Henry June Hardey Burger Jr.  She graduated from Marysville High School in 1969.  After graduating high school, Peggy attended and graduated from Clark’s School of Business in Topeka, KS.

On April 9, 1994 Peggy married Michael W. Schneider at Holy Family Church in Summerfield, KS.  They moved to Summerfield the summer of 1994.  Mike and Peggy celebrated 28 anniversaries together.  Peggy gained two daughters through their marriage.

Peggy’s first job was in the accounting dept. for Fleming Co in Topeka, KS.  She left Fleming Co. and went to work for Hudson Oil Company then transferred to Hudson Cattle Company where she maintained employment for 25 years.  When they moved to Summerfield, she went to work for Beattie Farmer’s Co-op until she retired in 2013.  After retirement she worked part-time at Western National Bank in Summerfield.

Peggy was a member of WIBC Bowling League where she served on the board for several years.  She was also a member of America Business Woman’s Association.  She was awarded Chapter Woman of the year in 1989.  Peggy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 2011, where she served as secretary/treasurer.

Peggy is survived by her husband Michael Schneider of Summerfield.  Her daughters Angela Brokamp and Adam Way of Centralia, KS and Amanda and Devlin Brown of Kansas City, Kansas as well as 2 granddaughters: Sarhi Brokamp and Tylar Brown.  Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, father and her brother Thomas Burger.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lauer Funeral Home, Seneca, Kansas. Burial will be at a later date.

Memorial services are pending at this time.  In lieu of flowers family ask that contributions be made to:  Freedom Hospice, Crestview Nursing and Residential Living, or the Summerfield American Legion Auxiliary.
