Patricia Louise “Pat” Bennett, 91, of Seneca, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Life Care Center in Seneca.

Pat was born on August 22, 1929 in Centralia, Kansas to Frank and Florence Searing Schubert. She graduated from Centralia High School.

She married Eugene R. “Gene” Bennett on May 24, 1948 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. The couple bought and made their home a farm north of Kelly and ran it for over 41 years where they milked and farmed the ground that they loved. Pat also worked for Luella Bennett at Florence Ann’s Dress Shop; in addition, she was an Avon distributor. She enjoyed helping woman feel beautiful with Avon and enjoyed visiting with her customers. She and her husband Gene, celebrated their 40th, 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries and treasured 66 years of marriage prior to Gene’s death on July 9, 2014.

Pat was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca and a past member St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict and St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. She served on the Nemaha County Election Board for the Adams Township for numerous years; as well as the Nemaha County Extension and Homemakers Unit. For over 50 years Pat was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile; as chairman and an avid donor. She was also an active member of the Centralia Saddle Club. Pat gave of her time generously; she enjoyed volunteering. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Charles Schubert, Mary Wilcoxen, Alvin Schubert, Elsie Hollman, Carroll Schubert, Freda Schuetz, Cecelia Reinhardt and Donnie Schubert.

Patricia is survived by children, Michael (Debbie) Bennett of Seneca, Carol (Eric) Buetzer of Topeka, Bonnie (Mike) Enneking of Hiawatha and Steve (Brenda) Bennett of Seneca; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. on Friday evening, August 28th at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 9 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be left in Pat’s memory to COINS for a cause and the VFW Veterans’ Memorial Wall.

A rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. on Friday, evening at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 9 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
