Kathryn "Kathy" Vernon Perrin

Ozawkie, Kansas

Kathryn Louise Vernon Perrin, 84, of Ozawkie, died Monday evening, September 16, 2019, at Stormont Vail Medical Center in Topeka.

Kathy was born on September 2, 1935, in Goff to Harold D. and Louise Clarkson Vernon. She grew up in Goff and attended Goff School, graduating in 1953.

After she graduated, she went to work in Topeka as a secretary; while in Topeka she met met the love of her life, Richard Perrin.

On April 16, 1955, Kathy married Richard Perrin at Forbes Air Force Base where he was stationed. After they were married, he was assigned to a base in Germany where they lived for two years. After Richard was discharged, they move to Kansas City where she was worked part time at the Post Office; while Richard was a full time for the Post Office. In 1988, they both retired and moved to Ozawkie.

Kathy enjoyed playing cards, cooking, music, occasional trips to the casino and sports; her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ozawkie and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Louise; and her sister, Dorothy Legere.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Richard, her children, Mark (Amparo) Perrin of Lee’s Summit, Jami (Dale) Denoya of Leavenworth and Rick (Genae) Perrin of Overland Park; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will gather at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Saturday morning at 11A.M; where they will visit with family and friends for an hour, prior to heading to the Fairview Cemetery in Goff.

Memorials will be designated at a later date.
