Helen Mary Sack

Seneca, Kansas

Helen M. Sack, 91, of Seneca, passed on October 9, 2019, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

Helen was born on May 8, 1928, south of Seneca to Clem and Agatha Huerter Heinen. Helen grew up in the Kelly area. She graduated from the 8th grade and graduated from Kelly High School in May of 1946.

Helen attended Clarks Business School in Topeka. She had previously worked at the Seymour packing Company and Santa Fe Railroad all in Topeka. Then she returned to the area to get married.

On April 25, 1953, Helen married Elmer Sack at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. They would have been married 65 years if Elmer had lived to the 25th of April. Helen and Elmer lived Their life on the Sack family farm.

Helen was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, St. Ann’s Altar Society. Two card clubs, enjoyed, cooking, baking and square dancing.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her parents, Clem on February 6, 1984 and Agatha on May 27, 1997; three sisters, Mildred Mathewson on October 12, 2018, Alice in October 27, 1935 and Jeanette Heinen on November 20, 2012.

Helen is survived by a brother Norbert Heinen of Kelly and two sisters, Arlene Gudenkauf of Seneca and Dorothy Eaton of Maple hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 and 7 P.M. at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10 A.M. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Helen will be laid to rest in the church cemetery

Memorials can be given in Helen’s memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Cemetery, sent in care of the family.

    I so enjoyed visits with Helen . She never missed Carl or my birthdays and our anniversary!! We will truly miss her!
