Ernest P. Feldkamp

Seneca, Kansas

06/24/1939 - 05/30/2022

Ernest Philip Feldkamp, 82, Seneca died on Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home.

He was born on June 24, 1939, near Seneca, the son of Philip and Ruby Welch Feldkamp.  The family moved to Corning when Ernie was eleven years old.   He attended Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School, St. Patrick’s School and later Havensville High School.  He joined the army after school serving 18 months in Germany.  Upon returning home, Ernie worked for Ralston and Kiem Trucking, then for Stick Service Station in Corning.  In 1962, he went to work for Seneca Wholesale; in 1968, he joined the Seneca Police Department. August of 1970 he was employed by National By Products, at the time known as George Gudenkauf Rendering, he retired after 32 years.

He married Margaret Reicherter at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on November 18, 1961; the couple celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in November 2021.

He was a member of  Sts. Perter & Paul Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 21, he loved horses, old Buick vehicles, fishing and living on the farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip on March 10, 1991 and his mother, Ruby on November 14, 2002; and a brother, Gary on September 20, 2006, Phyliss Anderson on August 7, 2018 and June Boydston on July 23, 2018.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Steven (Tammy) Feldkamp of Bern, Stanley (Dawn) Feldkamp and Ronald (Rene) Feldkamp both of Seneca; daughters, Kristine (John) Cornelison of Anderson, Missouri, Jennifer (Zach) Engelken and Elizabeth Feldkamp both of Seneca; sisters, Rita Glynn of Pawnee, Nebraska, DoVeta Armstrong of Centralia; brother Gene Feldkamp of Centralia; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Friday, June 3, 2022  prior to the Mass; the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials will be designated later.

    Sorry to hear about Ernie’s passing. I remember when he had Gary bring me out to the farm when I was little to see the horses, still a memory I hold dear to my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

    Margaret and family,
    I am sorry about to hear about your loss of Ernie. I can recall great memories with you at the dances years ago there in Seneca and the breakfasts at my paren’ts home. Peace and comfort be with you!
