Clemens J. Ronnebaum

Clemens J. Ronnebaum, 65, of rural Oneida, Kansas died Saturday morning, January 17, 1948, after a cerebral hemorrhage.

Clemens was born on December 31, 1882 in Petersburg, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Catherine Ronnebaum. When he was two years old, he came with his parents to Nemaha County which has since been his home.

On April 26, 1906 he married Anna Strathman at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca.

Survivors include his wife Anna and nine of their 10 children, Henry Ronnebaum of McLouth, Missouri, Vincent Ronnebaum of Chicago, Evelyn Hammes and Catherine Rettele, both of Centralia, Sylvester Ronnebaum and Helen Heinen, both of Seneca, and Florence, Wilfred, and Melvin of the home; and two brothers, George P. Ronnebaum of Sabetha, and Frank A. Ronnebaum of Earlville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Frances.

Clem, as he was known, was a well-liked farmer in the area, where he had lived for 25 years. He was a devoted husband and father, and was known as a good neighbor and friend. He served on the Oneida District #99 school board for a number of years. The school was closed Tuesday morning for his funeral.

Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, January 20, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca, with Fr. Albert officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Clemens, Antony, and Joseph Gudenkauf, Joseph Christman, Fred Heideman, and Clarence Ronnebaum.
