Paul L. Norton,
92, of Seneca, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 7, 2001,at Countryview
Estates Care Home in Seneca. He had been a resident there since May
26, 1995.
He
was born December 19, 1908, on a farm southwest of Centralia, Kansas,
the son of Frank H. and Anna Osborn Norton. He grew up there and attended
Mulberry School. In 1925, he graduated from Centralia High School.
Paul was a farmer and a stockman. He farmed
the land where he grew up.
On May 29, 1976, he married Eleanor K. Brown.
They lived in Seneca. She preceded him in death on August 18, 1991.
Paul continued to live in their home until his health made nursing home
care necessary.
Paul had attended the United Methodist
Church and the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Centralia.
Later he became a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and the St. Joseph
Society in Seneca. He was also a member of the Nemaha County Historical
Society.
Survivors are nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald
Norton and two sisters, Mildred Blair and Twila Harden.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10
A.M. Saturday November 10 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca.
The burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Lillis, Kansas. The rosary
will be prayed at 2 P.M. and a vigil prayer service will be at 7 P.M.
Friday at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorial contributions may be given for
St. Joseph's Cemetery, the United Methodist Church or the First Congregational
United Church of Christ both in Centralia, or Sts. Peter & Paul
Church in Seneca.
