Ursula M. Lueger,
102, of Seneca, Kansas, died late Tuesday evening, February 4, 2003,
at Country View Estates Care Home in Seneca. She had been a resident
there since November of 1998.
She
was born January 8, 1901, on a farm east of St. Benedict, the daughter
of John B. and Philomina Koelzer Haug. She attended St. Mary's School
at St. Benedict and helped on the family farm.
She was married to Aloysius Lueger. She
lived in Seneca for many years, and had worked at the Axtell Hospital
and also at the Seneca Hospital for several years. She also took care
of people in their homes. She preceded in death by a son Alvin Lueger
on December 5, 1999, and a daughter Evelyn Ronnebaum on November 27,
1996.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul
Church, the St. Ann's Altar Society at the church, and a volunteer at
the Mission Center in Seneca.
Survivors are a brother, Melvin Haug of
Seneca; two sisters, Clara Meyer of Baileyville and Armella Schmits
of Seneca; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two great-great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers
Aloysius, Ambrose, Peter, and Lawrence Haug.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10:30
A.M. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. The burial
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at St. Benedict, Kansas. The rosary will
be prayed at 2 P.M. and a prayer service will be conducted at 7 P.M.
Friday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. She will lie in state at the
funeral home after 8:30 A.M. Friday.
Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter
& Paul School, St. Mary's Cemetery Fund, Sts. Peter & Paul Mission
Center and sent in care of the family.
