
Robert
F. "Bob" Korte
Robert F. “Bob” Korte, 62, of Goff, KS, died Thursday,
April 20, 2006, at his home.
He
was born May 18, 1943, on a farm southeast of Corning, the son of Albert
and Mary Wessel Korte. When he was 3 years old, the family moved to
the home place, a farm east of Kelly. Bob attended Kelly public schools
and graduated from high school in 1961. After working for ASC for a
year, he returned to farming on the home place. In 1966 he built a dairy.
On May 4, 1968, he married Barbara Koch
at St. Michael’s Church at Axtell. They lived on the home place
where they had a dairy until 1993 and also raised stock cattle until
2004.
He was a member of St. Bede’s Church
at Kelly and the Knights of Columbus #1769 at Seneca. He was also a
member of the STEP Foundation and served on the boards of the Rural
Water District and the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital. Bob liked bowling,
playing cards, traveling, studying history, and spending time with his
grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of
the home; son David Korte of Seneca; three daughters, Brenda Bergman
of Vermillion, Dawn Hueske of Centralia, and Kim Rollenhagen of Topeka;
two sisters, Annie Kramer of Seneca and Gladys Niehaus of Lake City,
MN; and eight grandchildren.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10
AM Monday at St. Bede’s Church at Kelly. The burial will be in
the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at the Lauer Funeral
Home in Seneca at 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday evening.
Memorials may be given for St. Bede's
Cemetery, the Nemaha County Training Center, or the American Cancer
Society, and sent in care of the family.
