M. Ice
Anna M. Ice, 91, of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Thursday, October 3,
2002, at a hospital there.
She
was born January 31, 1911, at Kelly, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph
and Mamie McGrath Fleming. She attended St. Bede's School at Kelly and
graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School in Seneca. She attended
Clark Business School in Topeka. During the 1930's she was a relief
switchboard operator in Kelly.
Anna then moved to Topeka and worked for
many years in the office of the Sante Fe Railroad. She moved to St.
Joseph in 1954.
She married Warren Ice in 1948. He preceded
her in death on April 12, 1997.
She was a member of the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph. She was a Girl Scout
leader and had done volunteer work at the Sister's Hospital in St. Joseph
for many years.
Survivors are a brother, Robert Fleming
of Aberdeen, Maryland; a sister, Mary Shanbour of St. Joseph; and several
nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded
in death by three brothers, William, George, and Cyril Fleming.
Graveside services will be conducted at
St. Bede's Cemetery in Kelly at 11 A.M. Saturday.
Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca is in charge of arrangements.
