C. Heiman
Theresa C. Heiman,
78, Baileyville, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at the Nemaha Valley
Community Hospital in Seneca. She was transferred there from Life Care
Center in Seneca where she had been a resident since November of 2000.
She
was born September 11, 1926, on a farm north of Seneca, the daughter
of Henry J. and Josephine Waller Nordhus. Her mother died when she was
three years old. Her sister, Margaret, helped care for the family. She
graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School.
On September 11, 1947, she married Leonard
H. Heiman at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. They lived and
farmed east of Baileyville. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1998.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church
at Baileyville and the Altar Society at the church. Theresa enjoyed
painting scenery, poetry, needlework, and crocheting.
Survivors are three sons Ronald of Topeka,
and Howard and Brent, both of Baileyville; three daughters, Janet Koelzer
of Seneca, Karen Scott of Topeka, and Linda Summers of Lincoln, NE;
two brothers, Sylvester “Pat” Nordhus and John Nordhus,
both of Seneca; three sisters, Margaret Stallbaumer and Mary Macke,
both of Seneca, and Rita Keith of Shawnee Mission;15 grandchildren and
2 great-grandchildren, twin girls.
Besides her husband, and her parents,
she was preceded in death by a sister Celestine who died at birth, May
14, 1930.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 A.M.
Thursday at Sacred Heart Church at Baileyville. The burial will be in
the church cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 2 and 7 P.M. Wednesday
at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, where she will lie in state after
8:30 A.M. Wednesday.
