
Kenneth
A. "Kenny" Haverkamp
Kenneth A. Haverkamp, 64, of Seneca, died Thursday evening, May 18,
2006, at his farm east of Seneca.
He
was born June 2, 1941 at Sabetha, KS, to John F. and Teresa J. Olberding
Haverkamp. At his birth the family lived north of St. Benedict. They
moved a mile east of St. Benedict in 1943. He attended St. Mary’s
School in St. Benedict and graduated in 1959. In 1967 they moved a mile
west of Seneca.
On April 15, 1967 he married Mary B. Koelzer
at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning, KS. She survives of the home.
"Kenny," as he was always known,
was a farmer and a stockman all his life and continued to work on his
farm until his passing. He also was helping his brothers on their farms
in the area. His hobbies were his grandchildren, mowing, snow removal,
woodworking and western movies. Kenny was a quiet man, very gentle talking,
and always had time to visit with anyone.
He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus #1769 of Seneca and Ponce De Leon assembly of the 4th degree
also of Seneca.
Survivors include three daughters,
Theresa Summers and Deloris Deters, both of Seneca, and Mary Jane Koerperich
of Marysville; two brothers, Lillis Haverkamp and John Haverkamp, both
of Seneca; four sisters, Angela Devillier of St. Mary’s, KS, Cecillia
Kohake of Sabetha, Luella Curti of Seneca, and Henrietta Dressman of
Baileyville; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 A.M.
Monday, May 22, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. Burial
will be at the St. Mary's Church Cemetery in St. Benedict. Rosaries
will be prayed on Sunday at 2 & 7 P.M. at the Lauer Funeral Home
in Seneca.
Memorials can be given for the Knights of Columbus,
or other beneficiaries to be named later by the family, and sent in
care of the family.
