Emily Anne Hammes

Emily Anne Hammes, daughter of Angie and Ryan Hammes of Seneca, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
      She was born February 6, 2006, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. After her birth, it was discovered that she had a congenital heart problem, and she was transferred to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka before going to Kansas City.
     Survivors besides her parents are two brothers, Matthew and Joshua; and three sisters, Maggie, Hanna, and Ashley, all of the home; grandparents, Dorothy and Galen Hammes, Anita and Jim Reitz, all of Seneca, and Dorothy Petersen of Battle Creek, Iowa.
     Mass of the angels will be 10 AM Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. The burial will be in the church cemetery. A prayer service will be conducted on Friday evening at 7 PM at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, where she will lie in state after 4 PM on Friday.
     Memorials may be given for The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program at Sts. Peter & Paul School in Seneca and sent in care of the family.
