
Michael
Flentie
Michael Flentie, 51, of Centralia, KS, died late Monday evening, October
2, 2006, at the Onaga Community Hospital, after a short battle with
cancer.
He
was born February 2, 1955, at Seneca, the son of Merlin and Gladys “Jeanne”
Hidy Flentie. He attended Centralia High School, graduating in 1973.
Michael also attended Beloit Vo-tech and graduated in 1974. As a young
man he worked for McBratney Implement, in addition to farming. In 1989,
he left farming and worked in construction until 2005, when he went
to work for USD 442, the Nemaha Valley school district. He recently
retired due to his health.
On August 23, 1975, he married Patricia
Eisenbarth at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning.
Michael was a member of St. Patrick’s
Catholic Church. He was a charter member of the Centralia Jaycees, and
was a volunteer fireman for Centralia. He served on the USD 380 school
board from 1983-1991. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially
his grandchildren. He liked woodworking, antique tractors, golfing and
genealogy.
Survivors are his wife, Patricia “Pat”,
a son and daughter-in-law Jerod and Cindy Flentie of Centralia; daughters
and son-in-laws, Amy and Michael Boeckman of Corning, Becky and Scott
Carver of Sabetha, and Kara and Brent Ronnebaum of Centralia; 11 grandchildren,
Taylor, Trenton, Abbie and Jacob Flentie, Madison, Dylan and Sydnie
Boeckman, Nathanial and Brennan Carver, and Devin and Derek Ronnebaum.
Other survivors are a brother Brad Flentie of Centralia, and two sisters,
Julie Wright of Humbolt NE, and Patty Flentie of Sterling NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
and two grandchildren, Mariah Boeckman in 1997 and Ty Flentie in 2002.
Mass of Christen Burial will be 10 AM
Friday at St. Patrick’s in Corning. The burial will be in the
church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca
on Thursday at 2 and 7PM.
Memorials may be given to St Francis Hospital,
Onaga Community Hospital, or St. Patrick’s Church, and sent in
care of the family.
