
Robert
H. Enneking
Robert H. Enneking, 77, of Seneca, KS, died Wednesday morning, May
9, 2007 at Life Care Center in Seneca.
He
was born July 18, 1929, in Seneca, the son of Henry B. and Mary J. Rethman
Enneking. He grew up there, and attended Sts. Peter & Paul School
in Seneca, and graduated in 1947. He was
employed by Western Electric in California from 1947-1948. He entered
the U.S. Air Force in 1948 and served in Korea from 1949-1951. He was
discharged in 1952 and returned home.
In 1952, he married Luella Roggenkamp
at St. Joseph Church in Lillis, Kansas. They lived in Topeka for nine
years, before moving to Seneca. Robert worked for South Western Bell
from 1952-1999 as a cable splicer and as an office repair man.
Robert was a member of Sts. Peter &
Paul Church, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Earle W. Taylor
Post #21 of the American Legion, and the Seneca Memorial Post #7458
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and exploring
with his metal detector.
Survivors besides his wife are two sons,
Gerald of Auburn, KS and Gregory of Seneca; a daughter, Mary Ann Weaver
of Seneca; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by a son, Dennis on
April 24, 1999.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 PM Saturday,
May 12, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. The rosary will be
prayed at 7 PM on Friday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Inurnment
will be in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by
the Earl W. Taylor Post #21 of the American Legion and the Memorial
Post # 7458 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorials may be given for Sts. Peter
& Paul School or Life Care Center, and sent in care of the family.
