Joyce E. Enneking

Joyce Edna Enneking, 70, of Seneca, KS, lost her six-month battle against cancer late Saturday evening, February 13, 2010, at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.
     Joyce was born on April 8, 1939, on a farm south of Seneca to Edwin and Odelia Ronnebaum Brokamp.  She went from attending a country school as a young girl to graduating from Kelly High School.
     On November 19, 1960, she married Leroy F. Enneking at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly.  She worked for the Nemaha County Co-Op for 30 years, and did baby-sitting in her home.  After she retired, she continued to baby-sit and volunteered at Sts. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Mission Center and at Life Care Center of Seneca. She looked forward to monthly visits to the casino for Cousin’s Day. 
     She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, St. Ann’s Altar Society and was organizer of the chain prayers for the church.
      Joyce enjoyed gardening, antiques and going to garage sales and auctions. 
      She is survived by her husband Leroy of 49 years; her sons, Doug, Dan and Daune Enneking, all of Seneca; her brother, Harold Brokamp of Corning; her twin sister, Janice Steinlage of Sabetha; her sister, Mary Ann Henry of Seneca; and 3 grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her father on April 26, 1960 and her mother on January 18, 2005.
     A rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Monday, February 15, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Tuesday, February 16, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
     Memorial contributions may be left in Joyce’s memory to Sts. Peter & Paul Mission Center or Nemaha Valley Community Hospital.
