Betty B. Bean

Betty B. Bean, 76, of Centralia, KS, died Wednesday afternoon, October 11, 2006, at her home.
      She was born April 14, 1930, at Oregon, MO, the daughter of Daniel and Grace Armentrout Dreher. When she was 12 years old, the family moved to Centralia. She attended the Mulberry School and Centralia Public Schools.
     On March 6, 1948, she married Bill Bean at Seneca. They lived at Centralia and raised three children. For five years she was employed as a part time worker at the Haverkamp Grocery in Centralia.
     Betty enjoyed woodworking and crafts. As a homemaker, she also liked sewing, cooking, and gardening.
Survivors are her husband Bill of the home; a son, Bill Bean, Jr., of Lompoc, CA; two daughters, Sharon Botonis of Pueblo West, CO, and Linda Burden of Seneca, KS; a brother, Arden Dreher of Fairview, KS; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Dreher in 1946.
     Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at the Centralia Cemetery.
     Memorials may be given for the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the family.
